What is the Binary to ASCII Converter?

The Binary to ASCII Converter decodes a sequence of 8-bit binary octets — one per character — back into readable text. Each octet is treated as a single byte, and the full byte sequence is decoded as UTF-8, so it correctly handles standard text as well as accented characters and other multi-byte symbols.

How It Works

Each line is split on spaces or commas into individual binary tokens, and every token (up to 8 bits) is parsed as a byte value from 0 to 255. The resulting byte sequence is then decoded into text, letter by letter, in the order the octets were entered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does each octet have to be exactly 8 digits?

It can be shorter (leading zeros are implied), but it can't represent a value over 255, since each octet must fit in a single byte — anything longer than 8 binary digits is flagged as invalid.

Can I decode more than one message at a time?

Yes. Put each message's octets on their own line, and every line is decoded to its own line of text in the result.

What if one octet in the middle is wrong?

That specific line is flagged with an inline error naming the invalid token, so a single mistake doesn't get misread as a different, silently wrong character.
